These guitars are extremely limited - only 5 of these were produced in this batch and it looks and sounds incredible! The depth coming from this instrument is unbelievable...balanced all across the spectrum with rich, full lows and crisp, clean highs. It has a cedar top with a very nice patina and a walnut back/sides. The abalone vine inlay on the headstock is a nice touch along with the tri-color herringbone rosette and tri-color rope purfling. A few months ago Matthew Larrivee was able to obtain 19 sets of absolutely beautiful quartersawn American Black Walnut, as well as some beautiful Western Red Cedar soundboards. Larrivee has not built with Cedar for almost 15 years; so these are the first Cedar Topped Larrivee in ages. In addition to the wood, there is some very unique trim and purfling’s on these special instruments. Matthew hand crafted a unique tri-color herringbone rosette with tri-color rope purfling. The herringbone and rope are crafted from all wood (Indian Rosewood, Ovangkol, and Silver oak) to create a gorgeous one-of-a-kind trim for these instruments. In addition, the binding on the instrument is highly flamed white fiddleback Austrian Walnut – perfectly complementing the back, sides, and soundboard. Our employees have been taking great pride in this run, with many of them calling these “My favorite guitars I’ve worked on all year!”. The headstock is adorned with our Vine headstock inlays, with upgraded ‘JCL’ 18:1 tuners with black anodized aluminum buttons. Each guitar also comes with the sound hole cutout (coaster) as a little bonus!
