Ovation CC11 Celebrity Vintage Acoustic Guitar – Sunburst w/ Original Case

The Ovation CC11 Celebrity Sunburst is a distinctive steel-string acoustic guitar that combines classic acoustic character with Ovation's recognizable rounded composite bowl-back design. Part of the Celebrity acoustic series produced from 1984 through 1996, the CC11 offers a unique alternative to conventional flat-backed acoustic guitars, with an attractive sunburst finish and a spruce top designed for clear, responsive acoustic tone.

Available from Metz Music, this used Ovation Celebrity CC11 has been professionally set up and is playing at its best. It also includes its original case, making it a compelling choice for guitarists looking for a characterful vintage-era acoustic guitar that is ready to play.

One of the appealing characteristics of this particular guitar is its strong bass response compared with many other Ovation guitars. Whether you're playing chords, fingerpicking, accompanying vocals, or adding an acoustic layer to a recording, the CC11 offers a distinctive voice and a look that stands apart from traditional acoustic designs.

A Vintage-Era Ovation Celebrity in Sunburst

The Ovation Celebrity CC11 belongs to a recognizable chapter in Ovation's acoustic guitar history. Produced between 1984 and 1996, the CC11 combined traditional acoustic guitar construction with the company's signature composite body design.

The sunburst finish gives this instrument a timeless appearance, complementing the spruce top and the rounded body profile. Its vintage-era styling makes it an appealing option for players who appreciate classic acoustic instruments, distinctive designs, and the character of a guitar with an established history.

Whether you're adding a different acoustic voice to your collection or looking for a dependable instrument for everyday playing, this Ovation CC11 Celebrity delivers a combination of traditional acoustic construction and unmistakable Ovation styling.

Spruce Top and Distinctive Composite Bowl-Back Body

One of the defining features of the Ovation CC11 Celebrity is its combination of a spruce top and composite back and sides.

The spruce top is valued in acoustic guitar construction for its clear articulation, balanced response, and ability to support a wide range of playing styles. From strummed open chords to individual picked notes, spruce provides a familiar acoustic foundation that works well for accompaniment and general-purpose playing.

The composite bowl-back body is a signature element of the Ovation design. Rather than using the conventional flat back found on many acoustic guitars, Ovation's rounded body construction gives the instrument a distinctive appearance and feel.

This combination of spruce and composite construction helps distinguish the CC11 from traditional all-wood acoustic designs, making it an interesting choice for guitarists who want something a little different.

A Distinctive Acoustic Voice With Strong Bass Response

This particular Ovation CC11 Celebrity stood out to us for its strong bass response compared with many of the other Ovation guitars we've had through the shop.

That fuller low-end character can be especially appealing for players who want their acoustic guitar to provide a solid foundation for vocal accompaniment, chord-based playing, and songwriting. The spruce top also makes the CC11 well suited to articulate picking and everyday acoustic work.

The CC11 is a traditional acoustic guitar without a built-in pickup or active preamp. It is designed for acoustic playing rather than direct connection to a PA system or acoustic guitar amplifier. For amplified performance, an external microphone or an appropriate aftermarket pickup system would be needed.

Comfortable, Traditional Six-String Playability

The Ovation Celebrity CC11 features a conventional six-string steel-string layout, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. Its 20-fret fingerboard provides a familiar playing surface for chords, melodic lines, and a wide range of acoustic guitar techniques.

With its traditional acoustic configuration, the CC11 is suitable for practice, songwriting, casual performances, home recording with a microphone, and adding a different acoustic character to a guitar collection.

The sunburst finish and Ovation's recognizable bowl-back design also make it an appealing option for players who appreciate instruments that look as distinctive as they sound.
