Paul Reed Smith CE 24-08 Swamp Ash - Satin Red Apple Metallic (Demo)

The PRS CE 24-08 Swamp Ash Limited Edition in Satin Red Apple Metallic is a seriously versatile USA-made electric guitar built for players who want classic PRS craftsmanship, a fast bolt-on maple neck, and an enormous range of tones from a remarkably intuitive control layout.

This limited-edition CE combines a lightweight and resonant swamp ash body with a maple Pattern Thin neck, rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets, PRS 85/15 pickups, and the highly versatile 24-08 switching system. The result is an electric guitar that can move effortlessly from articulate clean tones and convincing single-coil sounds to thick humbucker tones and aggressive high-gain riffing.

And visually, the Satin Red Apple Metallic finish is exceptional. The satin finish allows the natural character and grain of the swamp ash body to remain part of the instrument's personality while giving the guitar a striking metallic red appearance.

For sale from Metz Music is this PRS CE 24-08 Swamp Ash Limited Edition in Satin Red Apple Metallic. This particular guitar is a demo instrument and has been professionally set up and is playing its best. It ships with a PRS gig bag.

A Limited-Edition PRS CE Built for Maximum Versatility

The CE 24-08 Swamp Ash Limited Edition brings the popular 24-08 electronics package to PRS's bolt-on CE platform. PRS designed the model around players who want a guitar capable of covering a huge range of musical styles without having to compromise between humbucker power and single-coil clarity.

At the heart of the guitar are a pair of PRS 85/15 treble and bass humbuckers. These pickups are known for their clear, articulate response and extended high- and low-frequency range.

The 24-08 switching system takes that foundation considerably further. Along with the standard 3-way pickup selector, two mini-toggle switches provide coil-splitting capabilities, creating eight distinct pickup configurations.

That means this CE can deliver everything from full-bodied humbucker tones to brighter, more cutting single-coil-style sounds. Whether you're playing modern rock, blues, country, worship, pop, fusion, classic rock, or heavier styles, the CE 24-08 can cover an impressive amount of ground.

Swamp Ash Body – Bright, Articulate and Balanced

The defining construction feature of this Limited Edition is its swamp ash body.

Swamp ash is prized by guitar builders for its combination of resonance, clarity and visual character. PRS describes the wood as offering a balanced tonal spectrum with bright, articulate highs and a warm, defined low end.

The open-grain appearance of the swamp ash is especially effective beneath the Satin Red Apple Metallic finish. Rather than hiding the wood completely, the finish lets the natural character of the body remain visible.

The result is a PRS that looks distinctly different from the maple-topped instruments commonly associated with the brand.

Bolt-On Maple Neck & Pattern Thin Profile

As a member of the CE family, this guitar features a bolt-on maple neck.

The bolt-on construction contributes to the CE's characteristic snappy attack and immediate response, making it particularly appealing to players who enjoy the feel and responsiveness of a traditional bolt-on electric guitar while still wanting PRS-level construction and refinement.

The Pattern Thin neck profile provides a comfortable, fast-playing feel that works equally well for rhythm playing, lead work and extended sessions.

With a 25-inch scale length, 24 frets and a 10-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard, the CE 24-08 occupies a comfortable middle ground between traditional Fender and Gibson-style scale lengths.

PRS 85/15 Pickups + 24-08 Switching

One of the biggest reasons to choose this PRS is its electronics.

The guitar is equipped with PRS 85/15 humbucking pickups in the treble and bass positions. These pickups provide clarity across the frequency spectrum while retaining the punch and authority expected from a full-size humbucker.

The controls consist of:

• Master volume
• Master tone
• 3-way toggle pickup selector
• Two mini-toggle coil-split switches

The two mini-toggles allow each humbucker to be split independently, creating eight available pickup combinations.

That makes the CE 24-08 much more than another two-humbucker electric guitar. It is a genuine do-it-all PRS capable of producing thick bridge humbucker sounds, warm neck tones, sharper split-coil sounds and combinations that work beautifully for rhythm and clean playing.

PRS Tremolo & Low Mass Locking Tuners

The CE 24-08 Swamp Ash is fitted with the PRS patented tremolo bridge, giving players expressive vibrato while maintaining the precise feel expected from a PRS instrument.

PRS Low Mass Locking Tuners round out the hardware package and provide convenient string changes and dependable tuning stability.

Together, the bridge and locking tuners make this guitar equally comfortable on stage, in the studio or at home.

Satin Red Apple Metallic Finish

The Satin Red Apple Metallic finish is one of the standout features of this Limited Edition.

The metallic red color gives the CE an unmistakable stage presence, while the satin treatment keeps the instrument feeling understated and tactile rather than overly glossy.

Combined with the natural swamp ash grain, it is a finish that looks especially good in person and gives this CE a character that is difficult to duplicate with a standard production model.

A PRS CE 24-08 for Stage, Studio and Everything in Between

The beauty of the CE 24-08 platform is that it doesn't force you into one particular style of playing.

The bolt-on maple neck provides the fast, immediate response CE players love. The swamp ash body brings clarity and definition. The 85/15 pickups provide full humbucker authority, while the 24-08 switching system opens the door to a wide selection of single-coil and humbucker tones.

Use the bridge humbucker for high-gain rock and heavy riffing. Split the pickups for country, funk and clean rhythm parts. Move to the neck pickup for blues, lead work and warmer clean tones.

For players who need one guitar that can cover a lot of ground, the CE 24-08 is an exceptionally compelling choice.
