Introducing the PRS Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition 2026 in Sandglow Yellow — a rare collaboration between PRS Guitars, John Mayer, and Defender that brings one of Defender's most distinctive heritage colors to the legendary Silver Sky platform.

Inspired by John Mayer's long-standing appreciation for Defender and its iconic color palette, the Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition combines the unmistakable feel and voice of the Silver Sky with the adventurous character of Defender's Sandglow Yellow. Sandglow Yellow was selected for its connection to desert dust, distant horizons, Trophy and Challenge events, and the spirit of expedition travel that has become part of Defender's heritage.

This is the USA-made PRS Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition, not the SE version. Only 500 instruments are being produced in Sandglow Yellow, making this a particularly limited PRS Silver Sky release for collectors, players, John Mayer fans, and Defender enthusiasts.

A Silver Sky Built for the Defender Color Collection

The Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition retains the core design and playing experience developed by John Mayer and PRS, while adding a distinctive Defender-inspired aesthetic. The Sandglow Yellow finish is complemented by a matching painted headstock, white pickguard and control knobs, and exclusive Defender details.

Each guitar features a unique neck plate identifying the Sandglow Yellow color and its place in the limited production run with “1 of 500”. The guitar also comes with a PRS ATA molded hardshell case featuring a custom Defender badge.

PRS 635JM Pickups – Vintage-Inspired Silver Sky Tone

At the heart of the Silver Sky Defender are three PRS 635JM single-coil pickups. Developed around John Mayer's vision for vintage-inspired Silver Sky tones, the 635JM pickups deliver a full, warm character with a musical high end designed to avoid an overly sharp or brittle response.

The traditional Silver Sky control layout provides one master volume, two tone controls, and a 5-way blade pickup selector, giving players access to the full range of bridge, middle, neck, and combined pickup sounds associated with the Silver Sky platform.

PRS Steel Tremolo & Locking Tuners

The Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition features the PRS Steel Tremolo, updated with PRS Gen III knife-edge screws and PRS's tremolo arm design. Vintage-style locking tuners combine classic aesthetics with the convenience of a locking tuning system.

The result is a Silver Sky designed for expressive playing, dependable tuning stability, and the familiar response that has made the model a signature part of the PRS lineup.

Limited Edition Sandglow Yellow Finish

Sandglow Yellow is one of four heritage Defender colors selected for the USA-made Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition. The color is associated with Defender's history of exploration and expedition, giving this Silver Sky a visual identity unlike standard production models.

The four heritage Silver Sky Defender finishes are Arles Blue, Willow Green, Portofino Red, and Sandglow Yellow, with each color limited to only 500 guitars worldwide.
