Here's a Rickenbacker 360 from the late 1950s or very early 1960s. This one comes in a beautifully-aged Fireglo finish. This guitar has seen plenty of stages in its lifetime, but has remained beautiful as ever along the way. This one has SN: 2R001. This model is one of the earlier ones, as the body measures 2 1/8” thick, which changed to a more narrow body in 1962. This one also has an original trapeze tailpiece instead of the more famous “R” tailpiece which came about in 1964. Several other features that identify this guitar as a late 50s model: bound maple neck, gloss-finished rosewood fretboard, large triangle-shaped inlays, 2 single-coil “toaster” pickups, maple body with top and back binding, a slash sound hole, and a gold plastic pickguard with 4 diamond-shaped “oven” control knobs. Everything on the guitar appears to be original. Please check out all of our pictures, as we tried to portray any imperfections as accurately as possible. Some of the neck binding has come up slightly from the fingerboard close to where the neck and body join. Also, there is a bit of cracking at the bottom of the guitar near the tailpiece. Overall, it still plays well and sounds incredible! It’s such a joy to plug this instrument in and travel back to a simpler time! This guitar did not come with a case, unfortunately. But we can outfit it with one before it leaves if you so desire (additional charges will apply). Either way…we promise to pack it well and ensure it is shipped safely to you!
