USED Fractal Audio Axe-FX II XL+ Rackmount Preamp & Effects Processor – Black

The Fractal Audio Axe-FX II XL+ is a powerful rackmount guitar amp modeling and effects processor designed for players who want an enormous range of amplifier, cabinet, and effects sounds in a single professional unit.

This used Axe-FX II XL+ in Black, from Metz Music, is fully functional and delivers the extensive amp modeling, effects, routing, preset, and processing capabilities that made the Axe-FX II platform a staple for recording, live performance, and advanced guitar rigs.

The unit is being sold in Good used condition. The chassis has a couple of small scratches and dents consistent with previous use. Please note that the front 1/4-inch instrument input jack has been broken off. The plug still works and feels secure, but the jack could be replaced with some effort. This cosmetic/functional detail is reflected in the condition of the unit and should be considered before purchase.

Despite the jack issue, the processor itself functions as it should and offers a huge selection of amp tones, speaker simulations, effects, and signal-routing possibilities.

Professional Amp Modeling & Effects in a Rackmount Format

The Axe-FX II XL+ was built around Fractal Audio's advanced amp modeling technology, with 180+ onboard amp models and extensive effects processing. Fractal's modeling approach recreates both preamp and power-amp behavior for a detailed response designed to capture the feel of the original amplifier designs.

The XL+ also includes 768 preset memories, allowing players to build extensive libraries of sounds for live sets, studio sessions, and different guitars or musical projects.

For cabinet simulation, the Axe-FX II platform supports extensive speaker cabinet modeling and user cabinet storage, giving players the flexibility to build complete direct rigs without relying on a traditional amplifier and microphone setup.

Extensive Effects & Signal Routing

The Axe-FX II XL+ goes far beyond amp modeling. Its processing platform includes a wide range of effects including:

• Overdrive and distortion
• Fuzz
• Wah and Whammy-style effects
• Chorus
• Flanger
• Phaser
• Tremolo
• Delay
• Reverb
• Harmonizer
• EQ
• Compression
• Rotary speaker and modulation effects
• Advanced routing and signal-processing options

Scenes allow multiple combinations of effects and amp settings to be stored within presets, making the Axe-FX II XL+ particularly useful for complex live rigs and recording setups.

Great for Studio & Live Guitar Rigs

The Axe-FX II XL+ is an especially versatile choice for guitarists building a professional rackmount guitar rig, direct recording setup, or live modeling system.

It can serve as the centerpiece of a rig built around:
