This Gretsch Hammered Black Steel Snare drum features Satin Black 13-ply Rock Maple Wood Hoops. The Black Steel Snare Shell delivers powerful projecting tone even when played lightly. The hammering of the shell adds a dryness to the sound that draws attention to crisp and clear articulation. The wood hoops take control of the overtones and allow for pronounced cross sticking technique. This is a truly unique drum in that it delivers the warmth of wood with the projection of steel in a visually stunning finish.
